SATSANGAM

Satsangam Centre was founded in 1989, under the inspiration and leadership of the great Kathakali master Kudamaloor Karunakaran Nair, with the collaboration of his disciple Maryse Noiseux. The aim of the center is to preserve, keep alive, diffuse Kathakali and other Art forms of India and its traditional way of teaching (Guru Kulam). The teaching is based on the relationship between pupil and master through living together in an atmosphere of dedication and harmony, which allows the student to go beyond mere technique and to absorb the spirit of the art itself.
Maryse Noiseux, is the director of the Centre since 2000

The centre offers daily lessons and regular training of:

  • Kathakali - Classical Dance Drama
  • Kalaripayattu - Antique Martial Art
  • Bharathanatyam - Classical Dance from Tamil Nadu
  • Yoga and Meditation
  • Indian Classical Music (Vocal)
  • Indian percussion and other musical instruments.
  • Ayurvedic Abhiyanga massage

  • Satsangam also organizes traditional performances and lectures/demonstrations. The centre researches and participates in several inter-cultural projects.
